Today’s #BasinPlan news suggests the stalemate btw Tanya Plibersek & Harriet Shing MP has softened with agreement to fund VIC’s SDLAM projects. This crucial step is a win-win for Basin communities & must open the door for more projects like this irrigators.org.au/vic-basin-deal…

Politics showed regional communities are less important by passing the water amendment bill. Over recovered water won't deliver the 450 objectives but could lessen social disadvantage in the Macquarie & Gwydir if returned to where it should be under the Basin Plan. NSW Irrigators' Council
They have 5 billion litres more than they need from the Gwydir too, taking this water impacted education, social disadvantage and health. Taking jobs from those already disadvantaged will not close the gap. It just makes things worse Macq Food & Fibre Mark Coulton
