So very sad to hear that we have lost Frank Field

He was an inspiration and a friend

I always admired his petrous independence, his deep understanding of social justice and his mordant witΒ

I have many happy memories of Frank being heroically off-message - I will share one …

St George hasn't always been England's patron saint!

Before the founding of the Order of the Garter in 1348 it was St Edward the Confessor, King of England (r. 1042-1066).

So how did a 3rd Century Roman soldier become the patron of England (+ 8 other countries?)...1/

My favourite John Savident story (and there were many). As I recall it, as he recalled it to me during my Coro St days.

He was stocking up on some Christmas booze one year at a posh off license in the West End. Ahead of him at the counter there’s a woman placing an order. John

Zip was a champion agility dog, when she was hit by a car and paralyzed. When she came to competitions to watch her brother, β€œher whole body lit up”.

They let her do a fun run after the competition and her joy is everything.. πŸ₯Ί

There is a real possibility that very soon, the charity will be no more. I know no one wants that, but the lack of engagement and reach is killing them. Please repost this far and wide and donate if you can at paypal.com/paypalme/lovin… Thank you ❀️

If that sausage-fingered old fool can’t keep his big trap shut - his one job - he and his awful spawn should be disinherited. It’s not as if there isn’t a much better alternative.

Brutal and disproportionate lockdowns were the biggest policy mistake in my lifetime, so far.

We should have properly protected the elderly/vulnerable, and allowed the rest of society to function as normally as possible.

Yes, it would have been challenging. But a blanket
