No, this is German. This is European. It’s not copied from anywhere. Can we just stop with the white innocence that suggests some mythical Europe of freedom and justice is somehow being defiled by some foreign other. This is what Europe is. This is what it has always been.

Today's Palästina Kongress 🇵🇸 congress in Berlin gives a measure of state repression in 🇩🇪:

1) 2500 police deployed to shut it down shortly after start
2) Ghassan Abu Sitta, rector of University of Glasgow, forcibly stopped at the airport

Not saying this lightly: It's time to panic.

This is the University of Michigan’s straightforward attempt to limit any speech it deems unpalatable (“disruptive”). It’s shameful, absurd, and an assault on the free speech and academic freedom of our students and all members of the university community.

Ah the old “protest but don’t disrupt” nonsense, which is apparently setting up an excuse for repression of brave student activists. Meanwhile, The university of Michigan still hasn’t dropped ridiculous charges against TAHRIR Coalition student protestors.
