The UK is on track to miss almost ALL its climate targets. Yet the Government is set to give the massive new Rosebank oil field the go ahead - a climate crime Labour says it won’t stop.

"Analysis by the Observer has found 27 former Ofwat directors, managers and consultants working in the industry they helped to regulate". What systems I wonder did the board of Ofwat put in place to prevent this from happening? Err? theguardian.com/environment/20…

At last. A senior Labour politician finally decides to convey how rotten their party has become and call out Starmer and his witch-hunt - 'stupid, counterproductive and reveals a lack of self-confidence' theguardian.com/politics/2023/…

❌ Labour has announced it will not tax wealth. ✅ The Green Party would tax earned and unearned income the same, and introduce a tax on the assets of the super-rich. ➡️ To properly fund public services, reduce inequality and invest in a fairer, greener future.

Can we have our greenway back? After 7 months there seems no end to the closure of the canal towpath used by walkers and cyclists. Andrew Cooper joins the CycleKirklees demonstration at Longroyd Bridge. Will Canal & River Trust get support from Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire? HuddersfieldFoE

Thursday's meeting of Cafe Europe, Holmfirth was attended by Heather L Peacock. Other Colne Valley candidates were invited but none showed up. Yorkshire Party sent a statement (standing on the fence). The Green Party turned up and we explored a future rebuilding relations with EU.

In this election there is real point in voting for every Green candidate now that it’s a given that the Tories are toast and Labour is going to win. As more of the electorate vote Green, but are not represented by a Green MP, the stronger the case for proportional representation

Heather Peacock has been busy fighting fly tipping in Milnsbridge. "We need to establish a zero tolerance of this practice to eradicate health hazards and reduce environmental damage. A lot of the waste is dumped near a site designated by Kirklees Wildlife Habitat Network.”

Our best result (see video) in Colne Valley where Heather Peacock received nearly 3500 votes - when some Green supporters voted Labour tactically to avoid re-election of a Tory MP. Heather argued strongly for equality and wealth tax, NHS and public services, nature and climate.

Shocking to see such ministerial complacency in the face of risk that our fragile democracy is further undermined. The issue of reforming party funding was in Labour’s manifesto & they should act now, before what little trust is left is totally destroyed theguardian.com/politics/2024/…
