This pic hit me hard today. We can’t just keep waiting for this to happen. One day violence will come knocking at your door. I’ve learned we must walk & chew gum at the same time. We must hold perps accountable but we must have the courage to ask why even if we get uncomfortable

There’s not much else to do but laugh at our current situation.

When your org dismisses the harm caused by the few you dismiss the feelings of your majority. Learned helpless results and people start to think what’s the f&@king point.

I will miss the compassion and moral courage of Sangita Myska on LBC I enjoyed the times I spoke on her show. She listened and was curious.

Whether I’m working with police here in UK or in the US delivering peer intervention training I get the same kick from doing it - I see officers leaving with 1. Tools to act. & 2. The motivation to act early. Both need to be in place

This week the risks that police officers face have been made clear. Working with cops in the US this week & one participants agency lost 4 officers on Monday. Policing is finding itself on the front line dealing with issues resulting from trauma, poverty & bad political leaders

At this time we need leaders with an ideology that we can all buy into. This guy doesn’t meet that standard. My next #SundayThread will be focused on our current players in politics. I want leaders not egos. You may get tagged.

All this talk of arming UK police or bringing back the death penalty really suggests we don’t understand the benefits of investing in real prevention work. Less violence = less violence against cops and by the way it’s cheaper. Violence is preventable not inevitable.
