Schools that serve more than ¾ students of color and schools in high-poverty neighborhoods are more likely to say the pandemic will have lingering negative effects on students.

We began process of revising the #NAEP Science Framework 2+ years ago after seeking feedback from the public and consulting with experts in the field. The new framework will provide insight on how well students understand phenomena and solve real-world problems.

In 2022, 75% of Virginia students were scoring proficient or above on the state test whereas only about 1/3 of Virginia’s fourth graders scored NAEP Proficient or above on the 2019 NAEP Reading assessment.
