NSW Health has painted itself into a corner by downplaying COVID as no worse than the flu - if we don't need to worry about COVID why worry about flu?

So chickens get better infection protection than hospital patients?

“Poultry, for instance has very distinct biosecurity principles...their use of PPE...to protect employees and also the birds from anything that might be carried onto the farm.”

When news broke, I told David Lim, “They would have to do a lot of testing before I would drink milk from one of these farms at this point' and got a lot of pushback.

3 weeks later, U.S. FDA reported H5N1 in grocery store milk. It'll take up to weeks more to know if these…

1860's: We physically raised central Chicago to improve the sewer system and stop cholera!

2024: We can't install portable air filtration and UV systems in hospitals to stop c.ovi.d and other airborne diseases. We'd have to change the filters and bulbs!

Has anyone worked up the ladder of denial for bird flu?

- We have not found bird flu.

- We have found bird flu in one bird. There is no evidence of bird to bird transmission.

I’m neither a politician nor an economist, but finding it hard to see how it could be good to have 3% of the workforce long term unwell to , yet no moves to acknowledge, mitigate, research or treat?

Safety of milk from H5N1 has two parts: (1) Milk from sick cows is not used, (2) Pasteurization kills most pathogens

Finding H5N1 fragments in milk shows (1) milk from sick cows IS being used. So safety is from (2) which is 'likely'—not guaranteed—Data is not available.

44 people have been considered to be exposed to HPAI. 23 actually tested. 1 tested positive.

No idea what 'exposed' means. Since they seem to be operating on droplet dogma? These are not good numbers, Michael Mina.

The laggy monitoring of ERs has had nothing.

1/ THREAD ON LATEST NORTHERN TERRITORY (AUSTRALIA) COVID/AIRBORNE ILLNESS GUIDANCE - April 17 2024

This is from an email to all NT healthcare staff. How come they are so proactive and, e.g. Queensland, is not?

➡️ N95s in all clinical areas.

When you openly support gain-of-function experiments...
and then things go horribly wrong....

...simply label accidental lab release immediately as conspiracy theory and then seek protection from the World Health Organization (WHO).

What a difference a few days can make. Notice shifting language from U.S. FDA from last week (“continually proven to inactivate”) to this week (“very likely to inactivate…though no studies have been done”). What’s next? Who’s in charge?

5/5 When WHO hired me to draft a set of proposed 'outbreak communication guidelines' in 2004, the summary of the long document listed 6 proposals, ending with 'Admit and apologize for errors.'
Member states voted on the guidelines -- and voted not to include that last one.

Another major Vic hospital has abandoned masks today. This is a local decision. Each Vic hospital now makes its own risk assessment & apparently they feel the risk does not warrant universal masking in healthcare.
Thankyou any HCWs still wearing N95s (even outside Covid spaces)🙏

The insurance industry does not recruit & promote shirkers, lazy or work-shy people … to be HEAD of investment. It’s extremely competitive.

This is disabling yet another fit, capable and highly motivated young adult in their prime.

“Let it Rip” is damaging people.
