Very interesting graphic showing SpaceX Starlink satellites, which now make up a majority of all launches and all active satellites. Of course, 2023 only appears to be a decrease because half of the year hasn’t happened yet. nytimes.com/interactive/20…

Rudy Giuliani is taking over the role of the Wicked Son: “Jews… want to go through that freaking Passover all the time. Man, oh, man. Get over the Passover. It was like 3,000 years ago. OK, the Red Sea parted. Big deal. Not the first time that happened.” nytimes.com/2023/08/03/nyr…

A more accurate The New York Times headline: @FAA Approves SpaceX Next Steps for Starship. “The company conducted the investigation, identifying the causes of the failures... The F.A.A. reviewed the SpaceX report and concurred with the company’s findings.” nytimes.com/2023/09/08/sci…

Re-reading “I, Robot” by #Asimov - it’s amazing what he got right. He realized that AIs lack context for orders. In the book, robots don’t realize that the order was a life&death need. In the real world, we use prompt engineering so that AI can correctly respond to our requests.

Interesting puzzle from @xaqwg but I think the explanation of the factorial number system may be off by one place. The base 2 digit should have a factor of 1!, the base 3 digit have a factor of 2!, etc. Otherwise, you can’t write out odd numbers. open.substack.com/pub/thefiddler…

The analysis of Planet imagery on IDF tank movements from Josh Holder at the The New York Times is the most irresponsible article that the “newspaper of record” has ever published about Israel. I beg you to remove it before Hamas uses it to target.

Very entrepreneurial food truck at the #marchforisrael today. I’m sure all the attendees were clamoring for a kosher cheeseburger or a kosher steak and cheese.
