It's raining and the flowers are loving it. Our wild flowers are still in bloom and beautiful. Go to the right side Loop trail by the creek bed. Summit, Echo and Turkey Pass are closed. Loop Trail is open, we need the rain!

Its a busy Memorial Day weekend at the park. We are sold out for day use and camping. Always make a reservation at texasstateparksreserveamerica.com to enter the park and hike. Parking on 965 is prohibited. Double check your date, wrong dates will not be allowed. Plan ahead!

We have thunder and light showers. Summit, Echo and Turkey Pass are closed, rain expected this afternoon. We still have flowers in bloom, you can see them on the 4.5 mile Loop trail that's open. Be safe out there. 100 temps expected next week, summer is coming!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave your pets at home during these times of excessive heat!!🥵 We just had to rescue a person and their dog on our Loop trail. Not only did they not have enough water for them both, but the gravel can also get up to 150 degrees in 90+ degree weather.

During this extreme heat, for your safety, it is suggested to get out of the sun by noon!!! 📷📷📷 We're at 38 (!!) heat rescues already this year (2 dogs! Please, please leave your dogs at home during this heat). 📷 BETTER IDEA: Come early! The park gate opens 6:30am. 👍

Due to forecasted conditions of freezing temps & rain, we will delay opening the park on Monday 1/15/24 until 10 am. Visitors arriving before 10:00 may use the outdoor kiosk to check-in or purchase a day pass. Drinking water is not available at outside faucets. Stay safe y'all!

We are getting some misty rain this morning and we are forecasted to have this kind of weather for the majority of the day. Therefore, our elevated trails are currently closed (Summit, Echo Canyon & Turkey Pass). However, our Loop and Interpretive Loop trails remain open.

**UPDATE: As of 1120, ALL TRAILS ARE OPEN. We are forecasted to have thunderstorms starting around 3pm, so please note that our elevated trails may close again later today.

**UPDATE**: As of 3:30pm, all elevated trails are closed. We are getting a great deal of rain and thunderstorms and heavy rain forecasted for around 6pm now.
