It's been an another busy year for the mountain rescue teams in Wicklow.

The Glen Team would like to wish you all a happy, safe and peaceful Christmas.

The aftermath of storm Barra brought fantastic winter conditions for some team training on Lugnaquilla.

As it is International Volunteer Day, we would like to recognise the commitment and contribution given by our team members in the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team, their families, and other mountain rescue team members near and far.

What a SUPER day/night on Saturday for the Moonlight Challenge. A HUGE thank you to all the participants. The Moon was shining bright and the atmosphere throughout the night was incredible. Hopefully we'll be back to full capacity on Nov 12th next year. 🥾🚶‍♀️

Callout no. 27 - 02/05/2021 Ticknock
MR were tasked to assist an injured mountain biker who had made his way with the help of his friends to the roadside where he was treated by a Mountain Rescue Doctor and Medics. He was treated and transported to a waiting ambulance.

Callout no. 26 - 01/05/2021 Glendalough
MR were tasked to a Man & his dog who had became crag fast on steep ground in one of the gullies. After locating the man, Mountain Rescue technical crag teams were able to extract the uninjured person. Both teams were stood down at 17.54hrs

Callout no. 23 - 15:50hrs 24/04/2021 Bray head
MR Teams were tasked to Bray head for a 75 year old male who had taken a considerable fall while descending the popular route. The gentleman was treated for soft tissue injuries and then transferred to the National Ambulance Service.

Callout no. 22 - 22/04/21 – Glendalough - 00.43hrs
MR were tasked by the NAS to assist with the extraction of three males who required help at the Miners village. Two were brought to Vincent's hospital by NAS, and the third was evacuated by AGS. Teams stood down at 02:42.

Callout 21 - 18/04/2021
GOIMRT and DWMRT were both tasked at 21:29 to assist SEMRA with a search for a missing walker in the Comeragh Mountains. Teams attended at first light on the 19th. The walkers body was found later that day. #RIP .

Callout 20 - 18/04/2021 - Seefin
GOIMRT and DWMRT were tasked at 19.46 to respond to a casualty with a lower leg injury on Seefin. The casualty was treated, packaged and evacuated by stretcher from the mountain by team members and then handed over to the NAS Ambulance crew.

Callout 19 - 18/04/2021 - Glendalough
GOIMRT and DWMRT were tasked at 16.21 to respond to a casualty who sustained a deep laceration due to a fall. Mountain rescue personnel assessed and treated the casualty before transporting them by stretcher to a mountain rescue landrover.
