We have started our new Geography Inspire topic ‘Manchester vs California’ 🌍 We focused on Manchester today, locating it on different maps and discussing geographical features. Ask us what we know 💭Inspire Academy Mr Tyrrell Why not explore on google earth at home?

In Inspire History, 6b utilised our Geography Inspire skills. After completing a fact file about Queen Victoria, we used atlases to explore the British Empire during her reign. It was great to see collaborative working and the development of their map reading skills.

Yesterday we did lots of learning about Alaska during our geography lesson. We presented all of our learning in a double page spread. Geography Inspire Inspire Academy

Today in Geography we learnt lots of new vocabulary such as port, harbour, city etc. We compared our local city of Manchester to Athens in Greece then wrote up our findings. Inspire Academy Geography Inspire

In Geography today we learnt that maps are created from a birds-eye/aerial view. We drew maps of our bedroom from this viewpoint then used aerial photos of our school grounds to create collaged aerial maps of Inspire. Impressive work 1A! Geography Inspire Inspire Academy

This morning, 4A enjoyed their geography walk towards Mossley. The children observed the rural features we have been discussing in our lessons and created a tally chart. Inspire Academy Inspire maths Geography Inspire
