A lead-free future has never been more achievable than it is today. That’s why USAID & U.S. EPA are working together to tackle lead exposure in communities around the world.

In India, I visited a USAID-supported rural health and wellness center in Dharmapuri, its community health officer, and staff. They deliver an impressive, upgraded range of primary care services—from routine illness care across the lifespan to identifying + stopping outbreaks.

This #WHWWeek , meet Dr. Halyna, the Medical Director of a hospital in Ukraine that has delivered 3,000 babies since Russia’s full-scale invasion. When a missile damaged the hospital, USAID supported the repairs so Dr. Halyna and staff could continue to provide critical services.

During my trip, I met with U.S. Ambassador Eric Garcetti Eric Garcetti to discuss the decades-long US-India partnership. We covered many topics including technology's role in the work to end TB, primary health care’s power to reduce early mortality, and steps we can take to address lead exposure.

This collab will prevent infections and provide communities with access to key medication.
