Big thanks to the Scallan family of Ballina Dairy Farm in County Wexford for hosting GeorgiaSouthern Honors Global Scholars. Discussions were wide-ranging: Ireland's agricultural cooperative movement; the EU's Common Agricultural Policy; the science of grassland composition.
Thanks Wexford GAA for facilitating GeorgiaSouthern Honors College Global Scholars at the Wexford v. Dublin Leinster Senior Championship match. They were in awe of Lee Chin's performance & they gasped as Dublin secured a tie during injury time! Story to share w/ Savannah GAA

Overflow crowd for a superb #WexfordHistoricalSociety lecture by Mylo Miller, Irish Heritage Trust. Subject: the former Pierce family factory in Wexford town, originally called Folly Iron Works. It adopted the slogan, "The World Our Market." Michael Collins rode a Pierce bicycle.
So grateful for an in-person Dublin meeting w/ dear friend Dennis Brownlee, visionary founder-president of African American Irish Diaspora Network. The organization's high-impact initiatives inspire & then some. Honored that Dennis sits on the board of CIRT's research project, Savannah Irish Neighborhoods.

A reunion after 7 years: CIRT director Keeley (R) was thrilled to catch up w/ accomplished Irish traditional singer Niall Wall when the GeorgiaSouthern unit and the 1798 Together group initiated a #WexfordCampus-based partnership designed to further public-impact research.

Among the most powerful experiences for GeorgiaSouthern's Honors Scholars in Ireland: The #RosesFromTheHeart event at South East Technological University's Wexford Campus. Via bonnets, song & more, community members & academics memorialized hundreds of Irish women transported to Australia, 1788- 1853.

Our @georgiasouthern team visited historic #BaginbunBeach in #Wexford, where Normans invaded in 1170. Interacting w/ Carol Stacey, co-operator of the nearby Sweathouse Sauna, we learned about stone sweathouses as an element of Ireland's cultural & social heritage. Visit Wexford
