It is World Gorilla Day today. Uganda is a special home for mountain gorillas, housing over 450 individuals out of about 1060 individuals in the wild globally. Uganda’s gorillas are however threatened by poaching, habitat loss, etc. Save gorillas. Support conservation efforts.

Remember those in prison, as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are ill-treated. (Hebrews 13:3). When I started making porridge for prisoners at my court, I had no idea how far it would go. Thank you Lord for the vision and for sustaining it 🙏🙏.

On this day, I was born! I am so thankful for the gift of life. Another year has passed, and with it, countless experiences that have shaped who I am. I am glad that my new year begins while I am at CITES participating in the decision-making that shapes the future of our planet.

The 4th day of CITES COP20 has ended. Today's business included discussions on domestic ivory markets. Whereas some Parties recommended the closure of the remaining domestic ivory markets linking them to elephant poaching, due to lack of proof, the proposal was not supported.

Today CITES COP20 ICCWC side event, I was honored to be invited to speak about the value of the Uganda Forensic Laboratory in enhancing the evidence in wildlife cases. Science helps in the identification of the wildlife species involved, suspects, scenes of crimes, etc.

A big win for Okapi! The Democratic Republic of Congo's proposal to list the Okapi under CITES Appendix 1 was adopted by the Parties. The listing prohibits all international trade of okapis and their parts or products. This is the highest level of protection under CITES.
