British Values are being celebrated in assembly today @Godmanchester Bridge Academy This is just one of the many ways we explore and develop these values in school!

Bobby from Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) CIC discussed the importance of excellent play for children with our parents this afternoon. It was lovely to see so many parents in school and now enjoying some OPAL with their children outside!

From the Ancient Maya to modern-day street art, #Year6 look at how artists convey a message in this #Primaryart topic.

They explore imagery, symbols, mark making, and ‘chiaroscuro’ and consider audience and impact.

'Time’. This theme offered a huge range of topics for our children to delve into as part of our British Science Week 2024. Life cycles, life spans, lightyears, sun dials, pendulums and much more! What a fabulous week for all the children at @Godmanchester Bridge Academy

Ladybird & Butterfly classes in Reception & Owl class, yr 2, are really enjoying learning Makaton signs to support communication with children who use Makaron to communicate. We're excited to see these children embracing this meaningful skill! Next step; whole school 👏

Yesterday we had our termly Coffee Morning, where parents can chat to our School Child & Family Worker, our SENDCO and our Deputy Head. We hold these each term to support Family networking and to support our community @Godmanchester Bridge Academy

Swift class, year 3, have finished their DT unit, Seasonal Eating, by designing and making vegetable tarts. They demonstrated their developing cutting skills using seasonal vegetables and were really pleased with how their tarts tasted! Delicious work Owl class 😋

Owl class, year 2, have been working hard on their measuring skills. They started by measuring with cubes and then rulers and focused on lining up to 0cm on their rulers! Great job Owl class 👏

We're so excited to announce that we are growing! We're looking for an excellent new class teacher to join our fantastic team. It could be you!

This weekend we took all of our choirs to the #BedfordshireMusicFestival as the ACES Trust Primary Choir. The children were fantastic! We didn’t win, but we took 2nd place behind Bedford Girls' School who sung brilliantly and were worthy winners. We will be back next year!

Year 6 pupils were invited by Seagate Homes, who have begun a wild green space on the edge of the estate, to plant a tree this week. We will be developing the space with them to & encourage more wildlife.
They kindly made a donation to develop our outdoor learning areas well!

This week Robin class, year 1, have really enjoyed creating Art inspired by Clarice Cliff. They used their painting skills to draw circles and used a straw to carefully blow black paint to create tree shapes and forms.

Just before our half-term break, the Mayor of Godmanchester made a special visit to @Godmanchester Bridge Academy and gave everyone a book of wildflower seeds to plant all over Godmanchester. We can't wait to see Gosmanchester in full bloom!

Owl class, Year 2, have been learning about microhabitats. They learnt that there are small habitats for insects & went outside to see if they could find any. They looked under rocks, in cracks on the wall & on the grass to see if we could find any insects & found lots of worms!

Internet Safety Day

Today @Godmanchester Bridge Academy the children have taken part in assemblies and workshops to learn more about online safety. We have access to parent online training and support too, meaning support is there for all the family.
