Written on The Wind seems like so much a prototype for Dallas and the other wealthy industrialist/family weekly primetime soaps of the 70s-80s. It's like a full season squeezed into one movie.

I was a pretty young kid (9-10) when I started paying attention to the Oscars. Local LA TV used to have weeks of advance promo shows with clips about the upcoming awards. So even before I saw them in other roles, I was keenly aware of James Earl Jones and Jane Alexander.

So far she’s able to bait and mock him without going too far and turning undecideds off by being “mean.” She’s a class act—It’s glorious to watch.

So to recap: More than 40 of Trump's closest colleagues say he is not fit to be President. Every former Vice President has endorsed Harris. And endorsing him, Trump points to dictator Victor Orban? #debate

I was saddened by the effort to oust Biden, but my ongoing support after the debate debacle was probably in-part driven by fear of the unknown. Kamala quickly completely won me over and it's inarguable that she's mopping the floor with him in a way Joe on his best night couldn't.

Seeing a lot of right-wing rage over the ABC moderators (who I think are doing a great job of holding both candidates accountable). But Trump's meltdowns are largely in response to Harris, not to the actual questions. I guess MAGAs need to deflect the blame from their own guy.

Kamala playing it relatively safe with the press for the past month had me telling myself she might be insecure, afraid of a gaffe, and I was a little nervous about how she'd do tonight. My god, that's the last time I'll ever listen to me. #HarrisWalz2024

The media has failed us by normalizing Trump's insanity. Name another presidential candidate in the past 50 years who could have gotten away with falsely claiming Haitian migrants are stealing and eating pets where that wouldn't have dominated the coverage.

He’s got an uncredited tiny part in #Casablanca as the Dutch banker, but I recognized Torben Meyer as one of the German judges on trial in Judgment at Nuremberg #TCMParty

Sigh. I just can't. He spent 9/11 calling in to local news to say he has the highest building in NY now, then falsely claimed to have personally helped recovery efforts and that he paid hundreds of workers to help out. Ground Zero now also means how far he's lowered the bar.

A reminder that last night, Donald Trump continued his multi-decade streak of not saying a single negative word about Vladimir Putin, and, given multiple opportunities, refused to say that Ukraine winning the war against their brutal Russian aggressors would be a good thing.

I love Linda Ronstadt. 20 years ago we saw her at the Aladdin and she made a couple of political comments about Michael Moore and about the war. Many in the Vegas audience booed or walked out, she finished the show and after was escorted off the premises. rollingstone.com/music/music-ne…
