In the interests of full disclosure I have said Mass publicly as a priest of the Church of England in Churches and at Altars under the direct control of the Bishop of Rome, both within the Vatican and in the City of Rome, each time being given the Tabernacle key.

On this ANZAC Day, remembering our family friend Mr Comerford, (never known by his Christian name), Miner, Methodist, and as a teenage Naval Rating, responsible for rowing ashore some of the landing parties at Gallipoli. He never forgot, nor should we. #AnzacDay #LestWeForget

In any discussion of challenging deference in the Church, ought we to consider the use of the title ‘Dr’ alongside Bishop, Father and the like?

Sure, you can use another Psalter at Evensong tonight if you wish to, but if it isn’t the Prayer Book then you won’t get to use the word ‘minished.’

Current favourite Coronation story: Bishop Michael Ramsey having to be retrieved by the Police from a Cambridge Bookshop because he had forgotten that he was supposed to be in the Abbey for a rehearsal with the Queen present.

Given the responses to my Michael Ramsey tweet, I wonder if we might ‘save’ the Anglican Communion by remembering that all we have in common is a fund of stories about Michael Ramsey?
