Am so concerned by Shaun Lintern's report in The Times and The Sunday Times about a GP practice entirely run by nurses (no doctors at all). It claims that advanced nurse practitioners "can do everything a GP can." But that is not true. ANPs haven't been to med school & are differently trained. 1/3

Agree focused on Shrewsbury. Despite NHS England comment in the credits to imply this is exclusive to this trust. It is not. Fundamental untruths. This is the state of the NHS up and down the country. We need someone in Government that will acknowledge this to be able to help!

@fenlandphotos Not with Topical Vaginal Oestrogen. Multiple global studies have now demonstrated that Topical Vaginal Oestrogen can even be considered in patients with breast cancer who are experiencing Genitourinary Syndrome of the Menopause/Vaginal Atrophy pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37917089/

Completely agree. We need the shift and put more efforts into Community and alternatives to admissions. Then we need hospital colleagues to get on board with same and stop pulling resources back in. Let us do our jobs well out there. You can’t have it both ways

So our oldest patients are most likely to be stranded in EDs for long lengths of time awaiting admission and by doing so increase risk of delirium. So important system wide change now occurs to end this harm Royal College of Emergency Medicine British Geriatrics Society

I couldn’t agree more. Particularly where older patients are concerned. Face to face in nearly all is crucial to understand and make better diagnoses British Geriatrics Society. No question

The use of age-positive images is so important. The Centre for Ageing Better has lots of photographs and graphics to support this.

We join Age UK in calling on ministers to end corridor care. We need more care in the community to reduce unnecessary A&E attendance, Front Door Frailty services to identify and support patients, and a fit for purpose social care system. Read the report: buff.ly/uH9YBrv

Corridor care and long waits are particularly harmful for older people. We support efforts to deal with this unacceptable situation and to deliver safe, high-quality timely care in all settings. buff.ly/v4aUTtX
