Exciting news! Our redevelopment is moving forward with a major construction phase starting this month. With the aid of The National Lottery Heritage Fund, IpswichGov is working to restore and enhance the building, preserving its Victorian charm while upgrading the galleries for more exhibits.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund IpswichGov Ipswich-based Gipping Construction, known for its award-winning heritage projects, will handle the core construction. Work starts the week of 27th May and is set to last a year. When complete, you can look forward to a beautifully restored museum showcasing Ipswich's remarkable collections.

I’m having lunch on the exact spot John Constable painted ‘View on the Stour near Dedham’ just over 200 years ago. I doubt Constable could ever have had as delicious a cheesy baked potato as I’m having in the National Trust cafe.

A wonderfully inspiring evening with Dr. Bendor Grosvenor 🇺🇦 at Ipswich Museums Christchurch Mansion. A thought-provoking, insightful and hugely entertaining exploration of his new book “The Invention of British Art”. And the spirit of Edmund Withypoll was most certainly with us!
