Some wonderful Ancient Woodland fragments in #RockinghamForest. Today seemed a good time to walk right round Spring Wood on the Watts-Russell estate near Benefield . Private woodland but Rights of Way on 3 sides.

Yay! Just found my first Chequered Skipper all by myself. It went extinct in England, but has been reintroduced by Butterfly Conservation 🦋. Nature is in crisis: you can help this and other threatened species by donating here justgiving.com/campaign/simon….

There's a great 7-mile walk taking in #KIngsCliffe #Blatherwycke and #Fineshade which could be more accessible if the stiles were changed to kissing gates. (It's NorthamptonshireWalks no 98). Details here: rockinghamforest.org.uk/kc-fineshade What do you think Northants Highways and North Northamptonshire Council?
