It still surprises how many parents don’t want to hear how a virus, infection, Lyme, Bartonella can trigger 🧠 inflammation. They assume it will never happen to them. When you or your family have been affected it can be v isolating. I still believe that awareness is crucial.

sean stidston 🇵🇸 tern She struggled to walk in March, she was in hospital for 10 days. We had to go private. We saw a neurologist, immunologist & a haematologist in the July. He confirmed she was B12 deficient due to SIBO (she was seen by a gastroenterologist too) She has made a huge improvement 🙏🏻

"We are accused of having double standards, but even weak evidence for harms must be taken seriously as it is more important than efficacy. When uncertainty exists regarding safety, we should err on the side of caution." #patientsafety

Folks please be aware. Another brain retraining grifter has popped up, and is advertising on disabled people's threads. Think curable app knock off. It is obvious from the first post that they do not understand the physiological basis of the diseases

Estelle sean stidston 🇵🇸 tern No - her B12 levels were high so the NHS medics didn’t suspect B12 deficiency. She had lots of symptoms though. Sadly she was misdiagnosed with FND. It was homocysteine & MMA tests that showed the B12 deficiency. The Vit B12 Society (parents) FB - is the best place for advice

Hope sean stidston 🇵🇸 tern My grandson was diagnosed with CFS first. Then his seizures, which had developed while awaiting a diagnosis, were looked at by all the neurologists in 2 hospitals and decided on FND. We've never been convinced about the FND 🤔

Not calling for the abolishment of the #FND diagnosis, instead I am calling for more transparency and honesty around its subjective nature, else we risk closing diagnostic doors prematurely

Relabelling can soften language, but it can also blur truth. In trying to sound humane, medicine sometimes hides the reality it once named. #FND

Freud turned hysteria into conversion disorder. Modern neurology turned it into #FND. None could prove the mechanism.

MUS—medically unexplained symptoms—is the most honest label in medicine. Every illness starts there until proven otherwise. #FND

FndNope Well... How often can 'medically unexplained symptoms' #MUS be clearly explained as toxic ''effects of medicine"?🤔 (Same for #FND!) We have been trying to flag this for years!! bmj.com/content/356/bm…
