According to Fareed Zakaria, many older Americans view Israel as 'David against the Arab Goliath.'
But he says the younger generation of protestors think of Israel as the superpower and oppressor.

Criticism of the suspension from many Republicans and some Democrats was swift.
Nick Schifrin explains.
Pausing a shipment of American weapons to Israel 'is not to tie Israel's hands, but to make sure that our assistance is used in accordance with our values and our objectives,' Senator Chris Van Hollen tells Geoff Bennett.
Many college students believe certain groups 'must inherently be being wronged,' says The New York Times columnist and Duke University Professor Frank Bruni.
Because of that paradigm, he says after 10/7 many young progressives didn't take a moment to acknowledge how horrific the attack was.
