Spectators in Carbondale, Illinois, were treated to a spectacular show as a total solar eclipse passed over Monday.

The city was also in the path of totality for the 2017 eclipse. Thousands of people gathered at Southern Illinois University's Saluki Stadium to view the eclipse.
