Tomorrow at 1100 Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service will fall silent as a mark of respect for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Firefighter Barry Martin, who sadly lost his life whilst fighting a fire at a department store in Edinburgh. Our thoughts are with Barry’s family, friends and colleagues. RIP FF Martin.

Approved to ride, approved to wear BA, OTG planning, Incident command verifications, procurement/evaluations for new equipment, BANOG, retirement celebrations, core subject development & national resilience training framework. Just some of what’s kept me busy the last few weeks.

Great couple of weeks. Hazmat initial, supervisory & Gas Tight Suit courses delivered. Also attended the ‘Hotzone’ conference along with Fire, Police, Ambulance, Military and National Resilience colleagues. So pleased with ‘the Lab’ we created to enhance delegates learning.
