When I was an ID fellow, my late mentor Francisco Marty, MD said that I would establish the 1st fungal reference lab in the UAE. I remember thinking— maybe someone else. But wouldn’t it be nice if it was me? He’s not here to witness his vision coming true— but this is for him 🤍
