Utterly devastating news. I remember meeting Miss at the founding CogSciSci event - she was so passionate about doing the best for her pupils & contributing as widely as possible to the profession. Her blogs were excellent. She will be dearly missed.

Greg Ashman Lead by example. Be VERY visible. Be seen to build good relationships with pupils on basis you’re the adult & in charge. Be v clear we don’t cajole & negotiate. Stress to staff they deserve better than they’ve had. Stress to all: this will become a school built on mutual respect.

Why do knowledge organisers, line ups and silent corridors work in some schools but not in others?!   The concept of ‘straddling strategy’ and why we shouldn’t copy and paste school improvement!👇 1/10

Almost every school I go to has their values displayed everywhere in the form of a charming acronym formed in some torturous way to spell out SHARE or RESPECT or something. I focus group *lots* of groups of kids. Over 70% can’t even name those values. Posters and acronyms won’t

Too many schools waste energy trying to keep culturally misaligned staff comfortable, when in reality, that comfort comes at the cost of the whole crew. It causes confusion, resentment, resistance. It creates pockets of negativity and drag. open.substack.com/pub/lynseywhit…

Go on then… Hey, Grok , who was the most famous person to visit my profile? It doesn't need to be a mutual, don't tag them, just say who it was.

Exactly this Leeds didn’t have to do anything special. Overload O’Brien time and time again. And every clearance, every player just watch the Leeds centre back head it and then not bother with the second ball. And then not do anything about it

No one is intrinsically ‘maths anxious’. What they’re scared of is ‘doing badly and looking dumb.’ The solution to maths anxiety is ‘teaching mathematical foundations more robustly’ not spurious interventions aimed at the fear itself. Competence breeds confidence.
