We thank Fairlie Coastal for being a #SeaScot21 sponsor! 🦑 The Fairlie Coastal Trust was established in 2017 to help protect and promote the beautiful North Ayrshire coastline and bay. The group focuses on four key themes: Environment, Community, Activity and Heritage.

Thanks to all involved and @Becca_Plant84 ocean literacy insight, Loch Visions pragmatism around #OurSeas inshore limit, @seawilding for all the oysters and some @TavisPotts realism in relation to spatial planning.... I miss the sandwiches.... roll on 2022 :)

Yesterday, the community confiscated more illegal monofilament nets from repeat offenders on the SSSI & returned the captured fish back into #ourseas. We will take nets down & report #wildlifecrime to @marinescotland RIB crew, @NatureScot_SA & North Ayrshire Council

Dredging for scallops and bottom-trawling for scampi have devastating impacts on the environment and other fisheries. The seafood industry knows this, and yet the damage continues. It's time to #EndSeafoodGreenwash Take Action >> openseas.org.uk/end-seafood-gr…

The destructive contempt for our planet is taking place at all levels. Two redundant oil drill ships at Peel Ports Hunterston, engines running, spewing emissions 24/7 for the past 7 months. There's meant to be a climate emergency in North Ayrshire Council @Glasgow_COP Scot Gov Climate

Buongiorno. Dismayed at Brexit referendum result, the populace of Fairlie sought to retaliate by initiating direct democracy. They unilaterally determined to elect their only native European to the position of Honorary Mayor of Fairlie. CollectiveVoicesProductions 🎬 youtu.be/HLpWCrf7FeE

Can clydemarineplan explain why they continue to ignore Southannan SSSI, an integral part of the MPA network. You have previously stated this designation would be acknowledged. This video is wrong and offensive to our community. Please amend or remove it. youtu.be/ISeQ3bvZTKA

The climate cannot wait and need action to properly manage our inshore waters & blue carbon sinks which absorb more carbon than terrestrial soils, peatbogs and forestry combined.

This is disgusting, representative and testament to coordinated bully boy tactics experienced by many individuals and coastal communities around Scotland.

On the oyster trail we visited The Oystercatcher for a serving of some Ballimore Oysters and checked out the old pier where 'high character' native oysters were once shipped to the The Bucks Head Inn Greenock. Where you could also get a gallon of Islay malt for £30 in todays money!
