Friendly reminder that the April 1st (yes I know) deadline for applications to the SMRU (now posting at Bluesky) Marine Mammal Science MSc is approaching. You would not be a fool to apply! Check the thread of thesis projects below. More info: st-andrews.ac.uk/subjects/marin…
As part of our CoCoD project we are instrumenting spearfishers with Electrical Impedance Tomography to measure lung function and our new SMRU (now posting at Bluesky) & Artinis Medical Systems NIRS GPS Phone tag measuring 3D diving behaviour and cardio- & cerebro-vascular function while fishing for up to 6hrs sea

Very excited that our University of St Andrews SMRU (now posting at Bluesky) CoCoD project on the diving physiology of spearfishing will feature in an upcoming documentary 'Challenging Flow' by the talented Lizzy Fowler. Here's a sneak preview of what's to come!
After a couple of fantastic months of data collection on spearfishers for our SMRU (now posting at Bluesky) CoCoD project, we say farewell to #Croatia 🇭🇷 for 2022. Huge 🙏 to all our collaborators & to everyone involved! Photo credit: Lizzy Fowler
Looking forward to presenting my Master’s thesis and publication on near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) as a real-time physiological monitoring tool for seals under anaesthesia at the #SMM2022! The talk will be live streamed tomorrow (03/08/22) at 11:00 EDT (16:00 BST) SMRU (now posting at Bluesky)
