.Erica Bree Edwards, Ph.D., Sarah W. Lenhoff, and I were very glad to contribute to a forthcoming set of articles in AERA focused on anti-Black racism in education. Our article looks at how incentivize-and-punish school attendance practices can perpetuate Black suffering.

There’s nothing like a Black woman being direct to oppressors with receipts to back her words up. Stop being offended by confident Black women who know their worth and their rights and walk confidently in their professions.

One of the primary ways racist ideas operate today is through double standards, all this criticizing of Black people and praising of White people for the very same behaviors. I applaud Angel Reese for not letting any of this nonsense stop her from being herself—a champion.
