This is why we will be introducing a misogyny and criminal justice bill later in this parliament to support survivors and tackle the root causes of violence and abuse.

Given the relationship between abuse & trauma with all forms of addiction I am really pleased that Christina McKelvie visited Project Saoirse last week and announced that Delivering Equally Safe is supporting projects that reach out to women who are survivors of abuse and drug and alcohol problems

Our funding to support women and girls affected by violence and abuse has reached nearly 20,000 survivors in its first six months.

The Delivering Equally Safe fund provided £9.5 million to 121 projects across Scotland.

Cabinet Secretary for Justice Keith Brown has given evidence to the Scottish Parliament Criminal Justice Committee on violence against women and girls.

A Scottish Government governance group to take forward Lady Dorrian’s review into sexual offence cases will meet for the first time next week.

Speaking today at the National Summit on Violence against Women, Shona Robison MSP announced Lesley Irving will be the independent chair of the review of violence against women and girls funding.
