Buddy Bingo with Mrs. Heather Giggy!

Today for math reflection, we worked with partners to play “What Coin is It?” Students pulled a coin (penny, dime, or nickel) and their partner had to tell the coin’s name AND value. If they were correct, they got to keep the coin. This is an easy way to practice at home!

There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 16th, 2023 in observance of Martin Luther King JR Day. School will resume on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023. Enjoy your weekend!

These first graders are really into researching for their nonfiction writing. I absolutely love it! Can’t wait to read their finished products.

Today we welcomed a special guest… @lizbradenwx!! Thank you for teaching Haverhill about weather and giving us an insight to what it takes to be a meteorologist!

This week we are working on ending blends. I gave a hard task of building their own words using the ending -lt or -nt. Their response”Mrs. Eppard, we can do hard things!!” I think they were correct!

These mathematicians worked hard to find different ways to make the same amount!

We earned another class reward! We chose to have “Fort Day.” As an extra bonus, we brought our favorites stuffed animals. Our forts took a lot of collaboration and communication but definitely worth it! We are ready for a fun day of learning!

Today we worked with magic squares to build oe/oa words with groups.

How many times can you write your name in one minute? How many jumping jacks can you do? Bounce a basketball? How many cubes can you connect? Today we learned about duration of time during math.

YIKES!! We had a leprechaun loose in our classroom and had to find it. I loved the team work and collaboration they used. 🍀
