This is a great thread about how we are taught extremely overly simplified genetics in school. It’s fine to teach a simpler model for teens to understand, but with genetics, schools tend to miss the mark and spread wrong information.

Last time collecting brain samples from Aarhus University Hospital. Having the opportunity to work with human brain tissue has been an amazing experience. And the surgeons and nurses and have great to work with. 🧠👩‍🔬

At the #BRIDGEBootCamp21 we painted our research. It was a great way kick-off this fellowship with @UCPH_BRIDGE, to look at your research from a new perspective and get to know your mentor. It also made it clear that a career in art is not in my future 😅

We have a position open for a post-doc to work with two-photon microscopy in mouse cerebral cortex. The project uses optogenetics to examine neurovascular functions in awake behaving mice under normal conditions and after a concussion. employment.ku.dk/faculty/?show=…

"Scientists spend up to 40 percent of their time working on research grants rather than on research." Similar trends in Europe. How can we maintain productive competition but increase time spent on doing research rather than fundraising? theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/… #forskpol #dkforsk

I’ve participated in Book a Researcher for the past two years and I can highly recommend it for any Danish researchers who want to share their work with the public.

Today we celebrate the international of girls and women in science. This day is so important to celebrate. We still have a gap to bridge and ceilings to smash! Cheers to all the future (and current) women and science! #womeninstemm #womeninscience #nomorematildas #genderequity
