What does United Nations accountability look like? After former UN Human Rights Chief @raad_zeid hounded out Anders Kompass for daring to suggest raping children is not ok, the UN said it would start publishing statistics on reported rapes and sexual assaults by UN staff and peacekeepers.

The privilege of growing up in a democracy, whatever its faults (Belfast in the 80s and 90s wasn't great), is I never thought I'd have to ask a court to: - remove entirely invented strawman arguments I never made; - correct a blatant lie that they ignored "minor" arguments when

UN Spokesperson António Guterres The man who fired a judge to stop him revealing the UN policy of handing names of dissidents to #Beijing is calling for rule of law in China.😂 smh.com.au/world/asia/aus…

2013-2020: UN Human Rights Office vociferously denies any names of activists were ever handed to China. Evidence shows the policy was (and is) in fact ongoing. 2020-2025: UN Human Rights Office sometimes says names were never handed over, other times that they stopped in 2015.

What nonsense; this is not a “new” tactic. Beijing has been stringing along U.S. trade negotiators for decades. What’s amazing is that we continue to fall for the same tactics. wsj.com/world/china/ch…

Huge news! Prosecutors have dropped charges against two British men, including a former parliamentary researcher, who had been accused of spying for China. Christopher Cash, 30, and Christopher Berry, 33, had previously denied the charges under the Official Secrets Act.

As usual, Guterres is giving China exactly what they ask for. Studies into human rights "mainstreaming" are clear - it doesn't work. The only time the UN actually listened to victims was when it established a human rights office. Ban and Guterres successfully destroyed it by
