I’ve had plenty of political activists ask me “why don’t you campaign for another party? There are lots that have more money than the Greens!” My answer is simple; none of them have any good ideas to campaign for 🤣 Over the last two nights, I’ve been out with Sarah Nicmanis!

Nearly everybody I speak to recognises that Cambridge is politically stagnant; yesterday, the Cambridge Young Greens were out chatting with residents in Coleridge about how we can bring about some real change! We capped off the afternoon with a drink down at The Rock, a great local pub 🍻

I like The X-Men, a comic book series about how we should stand up to people that dehumanise others based on a shallow conception of what is “natural” - please don’t read into any potential subtext, or how anything related to it might be going on in the background at the moment…

The Chisholm Trail, which goes past Barnwell Lake, is an absolutely fantastic piece of work, supporting residents walking and cycling around Cambridge 💚 Sadly, the route is sometimes used antisocially, so I’ve been thinking about what we can do to make it a safer place!

While I’ve spent the last couple of days resting, that doesn’t mean that I did nothing! Yesterday, I mentioned what I’d been doing up to that point - since then, I’ve continued to read, and also let residents know that we’ve got some money to fix up this basketball court 🏀

I try to get a bit of rest on Sundays and Mondays - this week was no different ☺️ I caught up on some reading, and enjoyed the Plant Safari run by Pesticide-Free Cambridge and On The Verge Cambridge, where I learned about all the amazing plants that can be found in our streets 💚

This weekend, I picketed an event run by fascist enabler Posie Parker! It was pretty embarrassing to watch, to be honest; barely anybody came (Mark Williamson thinks we had double the people) and one lady spent the afternoon with the suffragette flag the wrong way up 🤣🤣🤣

During the week, I was out in Coleridge telling residents about all the hard work that the Green Party: Cambridge & South Cambs have been doing throughout the year! It’s been SWELTERING at times 🥵 Thankfully, we’ve remembered to have cold drinks, ice pops, and ice creams to cool down 💚

The gig economy pushes delivery drivers towards driving dangerously, causing a lot of issues for pedestrians. Recently, Naomi and I have been helping to make the space outside Papa Johns on Newmarket Road safer; drivers will now park in the lay-by and the fencing is fixed! 🥰
