Here's a round-up of how things shape up on #Cambridge City Council following the #LocalElections2024 .

I spoke to the Cambridge Labour leader on the city council, Mike Davey and new Green Party: Cambridge & South Cambs councillor in Newnham, Hugh Clough.

Congratulations to Hugh Clough (Newnham) and Naomi Bennett (Abbey). A Green gain means we can work towards a fair and Greener Cambridge. Well done all candidates and voters. WE DID THIS.

At our AGM this week we announced the new Cambridge Young Greens committee for 2024–25!

We also used the evening to prepare our final batch of student leaflets for delivery ahead of the city council election next week.

Nearly everybody I speak to recognises that Cambridge is politically stagnant; yesterday, the Cambridge Young Greens were out chatting with residents in Coleridge about how we can bring about some real change! We capped off the afternoon with a drink down at The Rock, a great local pub 🍻

Coleridge deserves a councillor that will listen to its residents, putting people above party! This week, I’ve enjoyed spending my free time chatting with the ward’s residents about the amazing work of Sarah Nicmanis, who’s hoping to be elected to represent them on the Council 💚
