Andre Mills was on a hot streak before shooting 3/14 from the field and 1/6 from three at Rutgers. Seems like that off-game is well behind him. He has all 8 of Maryland's points (3/3 fg, 2/2 3pt) at the first media TO. Terps trail Northwestern, 10-8.

Mills now up to 13 points midway through the half, but Maryland has really struggled defensively. Northwestern leads, 23-19.

FINAL: Maryland 74, Northwestern 78 Andre Mills scored 39 but the rest of the Terps shot just 12-for-37 from the field. Maryland drops to 3-12 in the Big Ten and sits at 15th in the conference.

More than 30 scouts are in attendance for Maryland (10-16, 3-12) against Washington (13-13, 5-10) at 3 pm. Terps enter off consecutive losses to conference bottom dwellers. Eli Cohen and I have coverage for Inside Maryland Sports!

It's only a 12-minute sample, but really impressive start from Maryland's defense against Hannes Steinbach. 2 points and zero boards for one of the more consistent scorers and rebounders in the conference.

Part of this is they're packing the paint and forcing Washington to take threes, but George Turkson Jr. just had a solid stretch against Steinbach despite being four inches shorter.

Maryland leads Washington 34-32 at halftime. Terps are shooting 40%, while the Huskies are at 54%. But 7 offensive Maryland rebounds, including five by Solomon Washington, have bought it extra opportunities. Andre Mills leads with nine points.

Andre Mills hits a three to put Maryland ahead, 60-58, with 1:45 to go. He uncharacteristically struggled getting to the rim, but is 3-for-6 from deep. Up to 17 points and five assists (tied for season high).

Guillermo Del Pino has played a season-high 25 minutes and is in Maryland's closing lineup during a tied game. He's played more minutes today than in his last five games combined.

Terps now lead 62-60 with 51 seconds left after a pair of Mills free throws put them ahead. Neither team has led by more than five in this second half. If Maryland can get a stop here, it will be primed for a second straight win at Xfinity Center.

FINAL: Maryland 64, Washington 60 The Terps weren't efficient from the floor, but a +13 advantage on the glass — which led to them being +14 in second chance points — helped them overcome that.

Del Pino blocked a potentially game-tying shot with 10 seconds left, and six seconds later, threw a lob to Andre Mills once he saw Maryland had numbers in transition. Safe to say Del Pino rewarded Williams for his trust in him.

"Personally, I thought [Del Pino] was the MVP. ... I think Willy has played nine minutes this month. I don't think he's ever scored in the Big Ten ... for him to step in and play 27 minutes, I thought was monumental."
