Finished #thebrokenearth trilogy. Best books I've read in a while. TTRPG lesson: Use a heart-shaped plot. Two strands separated right from the beginning, antagonists that know each other. Resolution is only possible after a physical and spiritual journey.

Locke Lamora, Gentleman Bastard, is the most fun I've had with a con-artist since Catch Me If You Can. #TTRPG lesson: It's better to play in world that feels too cramped, than one that feels too empty. There is still infinite possibility to fill in stuff as you go.

The first three episodes of #Arcane were great. Lots of cool world building and backstory. The setup of a posh city with a seedy underworld, which is literally below it and literally called Undercity might be simplistic, but it works for the show and it sure works for #DnD

The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells are lovely. Never have I cared more about an android murder machine getting to watch their soap operas. If you're not a big reader, try the first one, they're short and so addicting!

I wrote some of the encounters in this, really cool project and easily worth the price!

#FrenchDispatch was the most wes-andersony of all his films. I loved it. Would I recommend it? ... Only after properly managing expectations. #DnD lesson: do experiment, get crazy, but also do warn your players, get consent, ask their feedback.

#Piranesi by Susanna Clarke is such a precious novel. A great example of a lesson not only for #dnd, but for every type of storytelling: it's better to polish a simple story-type, than to get lost in convoluted strands and produce a large, incoherent mess.
