Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. Luke 24:45 (NLT)

And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. Luke 24:46 (NLT)

It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ Luke 24:47 (NLT)

“And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” Luke 24:49 (NLT)

Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” John 20:21 (NLT)

Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. John 20:22 (NLT)

If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” John 20:23 (NLT)

One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. John 20:24 (NLT)

They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” John 20:25 (NLT)

But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.” John 20:25 (NLT)

Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. John 20:26 (NLT)

Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” John 20:27 (NLT)

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed. John 20:28 (NLT)

Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.” John 20:29 (NLT)
