Yesterday, we rallied for solutions to keep New Yorkers in their homes. DBP and I joined the Coalition to Abolish the Tax Lien Sale and then CM Jen Gutiérrez & Council Member Shekar Krishnan for the intro of bills to ensure families displaced by disasters like fires can get #BackHome asap.

This is a slap in the face to tenants. This would be the weakest #GoodCause in the country, denying hundreds of thousands of renters basic protections from predatory landlords. Governor Kathy Hochul, Sen. Stewart-Cousins, and Carl E. Heastie: this is a giveaway to real estate.

Albany failed to address our housing crisis and NYC needs to step up by enacting the #CommunityLandAct, adopting $2.5B for #HomesNow, and funding #CLTsforNYC at $3M. Adrienne Adams Mayor Eric Adams

Brianna of East New York CLT says they worked with tenants & donors to successfully purchase a building owned by an absentee landlord. We can do it again! New York City Council pass the Community Opportunity to Purchase Act so CLTs across NYC can bring land into community control!

"There are so many over-leveraged rent stabilized buildings, tenants living in poor conditions & landlords who want out." - coalition member Hannah of East New York CLT The city should adopt the $2.5 billion #HomesNowHomesforGenerations proposal & pass the #CommunityLandAct now!

Spent the morning hosting a historic map collaging workshop at the New Lots branch of Brooklyn Public Library with our pals at East New York CLT, and the afternoon at Center for Brooklyn History making zines with Booklyn. Libraries build so much community. We need them. #NoCutsToLibraries

This is terrible. "Recipients whose cash benefits get cut off could also lose access to food stamps and even housing subsidies tied to their assistance case if they fail to meet work rules or miss appointments to reinstate the benefits, according to the Monday email from DSS"
