Things that require ZERO athletic talent👇 DM'ing a coach Visiting campus Completing FAFSA Turning in your HW Showing up on time Supporting your teammates Researching financial aid options Filling out a recruiting questionnaire What would you add?

Schedule a visit while students are on campus Why? You will get a way better sense of what your daily life will be like as a student - Ask questions - Set up a class visit - Eat in the dining hall Ask yourself - Do you want to be there for more than your sport?

🚨HONEST TRUTH🚨 Rankings don’t matter. Seed times don’t matter. When you step on the line or get on the field, everyone starts at ZERO. Shift your mentality. It will change the way you compete.

🚨SPORTS REALITY🚨 They are never totally fair. There will always be those more gifted. There will always be teams with more resources. It is just how it is. Instead of complaining, keep pushing and finding solutions… because there are ALWAYS solutions.

Recruting tip: Go to the place where you are wanted and where you will make the biggest impact, not just be another athlete on the roster!!!

🚨REMINDER🚨 Everyone learns and applies things differently. Some kids are 2+2=4 Others are 1+1+1+1=4 Be ready to explain things in different ways to help athletes understand and progress.

As a college track and field athlete in the fall you have a very short window to find success. If the base wasn’t set in the summer, you are playing catch up. One must build consistent positive habits, results will show later. This sport is as real as it gets.

🚨REMEMBER COACHES🚨 Less is more. Believe it or not most of your athletes don’t need 3 hour practices. Not just track, all sports! The quality likely goes down after 1.5 hr practice. If you aren’t getting results you’re probably doing too much. Simplify it.

🚨COACHING REMINDER🚨 Just because it worked last year, doesn’t mean it will work this year. Different groups of kids need different things. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of your groups and go from there!

“The idea that the harder you work, the better you’re going to be is just garbage. The greatest improvement is made by the man or woman who works most intelligently.” ~Bill Bowerman

🚨ATHLETES🚨 Make every rep count. In practice, in games. Make it count. You are not going to be an athlete forever. Take advantage of each opportunity you have and give it everything. It could end in a few months. It could end tomorrow. MAKE EVERY DAY WITH THE SPORT COUNT!

🚨COACHES🚨 If you can’t explain why you’re doing a workout… Strong chance you shouldn’t be doing it at all…

🚨REMINDER🚨 For athletes and coaches… Always expect challenges. You can choose to complain about them or find solutions. They will always be present, so decide how you want to handle things.
