Today Gymnasts for Change published an Open Letter to British Gymnastics & UK Sport highlighting key failings in their Independent Complaints Process.
We are calling for an immediate halt to the ICP, describing it as 'not fit for purpose'.

Huge ๐๐ป to Eloise Jotischky for raising awareness of BGโs failed complaints process. Safeguarding policies are meaningless unless abusive coaching practices are sanctioned and abusive coaches are removed from the sport. To date BG has failed to ban any coaches since the Whyte Review.
British Gymnastics are bringing in new safeguarding policies for hydration, weighing and academic education for the first time.
David Hart, Performance Director British Gymnastics, gymnastics coach Karen Whelan & former elite gymnast Eloise Jotischky join Clare McDonnell to discuss โฌ๏ธ

The Whyte Review makes for extraordinary, damning reading, with devastating details of an 'unacceptable culture' in gymnastics.

Super proud of Eloise and all the gymnasts fighting for change. This is a great result for Eloise Jotischky the first gymnast in our group legal claim to have her case settled ๐๐๐๐ผ
You're so brave & articulate, thank you Eloise Jotischky. It's essential your story is heard and serious lessons learned from it. There is no grey area when it comes to abuse and no space in our sport for abusive coaches. #gymnastalliance Gymnasts for Change
This is great piece by Molly McElwee on the bodysuit worn by German gymnast Sarah Voss at the recent championships.
'We hope gymnasts uncomfortable in the usual outfits will feel emboldened to follow our example.'

Excessive control of women, from the attire rules to weight and behaviour, is sadly embedded in our culture- but gymnasts aren't little girls to be looked at and obey, we are serious sportswomen! Who are now taking back control and speaking up #gymnastalliance
