🌳Street trees reduce the amount of asthma related hospital visits 👩‍👦🚑

Studies looked at the correlation of asthma attacks and tree density - and saw a clear link between areas with lots of trees and lower rates of asthma attacks

Trees = healthy cities & healthy people 🌳🏙️😃

An excellent piece on the complexities of the housing crisis

Relying solely on new home building and increased density to fix the housing affordability challenge is 'slow and complex' and 'unlikely to affect the supply-demand balance in a timely manner'

There are 261,000 long term empty homes in the UK, with 1.3 million families on the social housing waitlist

10,500 empty homes in 10 cities could rapidly be turned into quality socially rented homes to start to tackle this

Children’s increased access to online space and their loss of access to real, outdoor space are two sides of the same coin. Both caused by an appalling neglect of children’s needs, both feeding into each other, both doing huge harm to children.

We asked the council to invest in protecting the spaces well loved and well used by the community for physical activity at the Finsbury Leisure Centre in Islington.

Help us protect our open communal space for leisure and sport. It is a necessity.

: What it's built matters as much as how and where.

Privatising the land of the Finsbury Leisure Centre is WRONG.

Well-loved, used and needed spaces for the community must be protected, not removed!

First, do no harm.

it is perverse to continue with architectural curricula structured around designing for new construction

Schools need to put most of their pedagogical efforts into educating architects capable of repairing and re-imagining the existing built environment

Sadly, it’s true.

In an attempt to mitigate the , we see is a lot of short sighted and desperate moves being imposed by councillors.

But the crisis will get better by acting systematically and investing in the future.

For the community, by the community!
