Opening equality of access to PhD level qualifications remains a huge challenge. Delighted that Dublin City University is leading the way on this. Scholarships open to all disciplines, fully funded for 4 years.

This is an extraordinary action by Trinity College and brings the organisation into disrepute. Financial loses? Student protests are historically a hugely important part of public debate and this is a very serious attack on free speech. It's a place of learning not a business.

Rosa Parks was SUPPOSED to be in the back of the bus (BY LAW) and she said NO. I will sit in the front. She violated the law but that law was unjust and it sparked the civil rights movement in the South. Do not tell me that law matters more than morality.

There is no point seeing in equality & not doing anything about it. The STEM Passport for Inclusion is me using my privilege to help. It empowers girls from under-served (not undeserved) communities with skills needed to get great jobs. Dont tell me you love my book & then do nothing to help!

Congratulations to Rhoda Sohun who successfully defended her PhD thesis earlier today. An excellent piece of research that explores Parent and Family Context Effects on Physical Activity among Irish Children.

New publication - combines several areas of interest: meaningful physical education, teacher-educator practices, & self-study. Huge thanks to Dylan Scanlon for leading Alex and Mats Hordvik for their valuable contributions. Open access - tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10… LAMPE

It was such an enjoyable and enlightening journey with you and the team, Dylan Scanlon. Great job leading us through and sharing so much of your excellent practice. This is well worth a read for educators across all subject disciplines.

It is worth watching this CNN video from the moment Emory Econ Professor Caroline Fohlin came across the violent arrest of a protester on campus and asked the police, with shock, 'What are you doing?' That's all that prompted an officer to hurl her to the ground and handcuff her.

Emory's Caroline Fohlin is knocked down by the police while shouting: “I’m a professor!!” Hear the disbelief in her voice. She never expected to be treated like this by her own university for protesting Israel's slaughter.

But remember, democracy is on the ballot in Nov...
