speaking as the artist who designed Young Liz for Bioshock Infinite, I love to see an article promising a bold new future where she could just look like someone’s half-assed cosplay instead

We’ve been working on a mobile rewrite and testing it out the last few days I have to say things feel quite a bit smoother! Excited to ship it soon so people can organize their portfolio albums and exchange contacts at lbx!

-More sketches from da plane. Except the master copy from the Tate, which my cat peed all over. -I am really trying to get better at drawing with line. -Thanks to all those nice souls who politely sat through my rambling demo at Lightbox.

The Harvard Business Review has some hard to swallow numbers on AI's impact on artistic jobs. Within just a year of AI image gen releasing, demand was down 17%. "We noticed that over time, there were no signs of demand rebounding, revealing a growing trend of job replacement."

I gave evidence on AI + the creative industries to the UK Parliament's Culture, Media and Sport Committee today. One thing we discussed was how the UK can lead in AI without upending ©️ law and destroying the creative industries (IMO certainly possible). parliamentlive.tv/event/index/b9…

Make no mistake, GenAi companies will try and dismantle all protections that creatives have over their work in the US too. They KNOW they cant win lawsuits because they broke the law. But they can try and change the laws. Folks, prepare yourselves to fight this tooth and nail.

"“A lot of 2D artists were laid off,” one anonymous Activision artist told the site. “Remaining concept artists were then forced to use AI to aid in their work.” Activision employees were allegedly “made” to sign up for AI training." The consequences of slop.

So AI companies aren't even pushing "opt-out" as a solution anymore, they just want your data and life's work for free, but you don't get paid, and you can't say no. Who in their right mind thinks this is okay? It's insanity.

What a misguided and terrible ruling from the EU. They just handed people’s rights, privacy and copyrighted works away for free to a US behemoth. This also affects any company whose work is copyright dependent. I thought the EU was better than this.

Devastated to hear the entire Marvel Studios’s Visual Development team has been let go. This was my old home but more importantly, the home of so many incredible artists and peers. Bewildering and heartbreaking 😔 Sending all my support to impacted peers forbes.com/sites/robsalko…

Execs be like : “Record breaking box office success? QUICK go fire the entire Oscar-award winning visual development team, who was responsible for designing all the visuals of our record breaking box office successes!” Corporate sociopaths.

Karla Ortiz (@kortizart) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Fun fact: Execs decided to fire almost all the artists whose paintings are a major part of this classic Marvel Studios intro. Artists who were pivotal in defining the visual look for those 17 years of record breaking profit. But sure congrats on the profits Marvel and Disney…

Marvel Studios Visual Development: 2010–2026 End of an era. I was there at the start of a team that broke the mold. 16 years, 40+ films, and 15 films led as Director of Visual Development, I couldn’t be prouder of the history we made. My journey continues… #Marvel #AndyPark
