And here she is making one of her creations! Yes, 2 pairs of glasses. She will work in the evening, and I will draw her. I was trying to use PS on an Ipad. I'd rather do something like this with paper and pencil. Also tried to deadpan it a little. Less (*&() slick techniques

Edit: twitter cant handle previewing a vertical image without the guillotine?

More fun storyboarding. Would love to do it someday.

Why gangsters dress so nice? Isn't that a dead giveaway? If I were a policeman, I would never pull over someone with a tailight out. But all those bastards with TWO working, that's where the promotion is.

Stream of consciousness is what makes this fun. Why I love KJG was the way he worked, efficient, internalized. I usually work letting the paint talk back to me, to tell me what it needs. But this way is more direct somehow. Also the very simple tools. Requires some experience.

Stream of consciousness sketch. I was trained as an Industrial Designer. The technique taught was NO line work was to be used. Only value. I took this to heart for way too long. I am enjoying mixing line back into things.

Fun exercise we did at Underpaint academy. Look in bottom right, ref is intentionally made tiny to prevent reference lock. You gotta make up the rest

View from outside, before the more interesting door design. Bad/good guys blew the door in the story. Yes, guards were techie Samurai. One of my pet peeves is those yellow/black warning stripes. just say no, but it is a part of this aesthetic.

design for a prison cell, for a project that went nowhere. Again, 80's tech vibe. This was all eventually modeled for green screen, and I got to art direct! My one moment in the sun.

Worked on it some more in Rebelle. Is it improved? I have not had much luck in guessing what people on Twitter like. Ill guess people like the sketch more.

Cannot say enough about the intuitive genius of J Johnstons designs. Yes, that is a lens flare. Prepare the boiling oil.

This started from the sketch below a few posts down. The block in was done live on Schoolism. If you have an interest in these kinds of things, I will be doing an 8 week class in basics at Underpaint Academy beginning in early December.
