Graduating senior news! Congrats to Carmel who will be starting a clinical research assistant position Boston Children's! She will combine her experiences in child-based research and clinical work with cardiology patients and couldn't be more excited! Hooray! 🥳

A big huge excited CONGRATULATIONS to Jane Leer on her faculty position San Diego State University starting this fall! As a former PhD student in our lab, we are so so excited to see her leave to train the next generation!

Our lab is the best! We have three of our amazing undergraduates who were selected for the competitive Costazno Teaching Fellowship for Psych 101 Duke Psychology & Neuroscience next year! They will be leading discussion sections and training the next generation! Congrats Ana, Rani, and Serena!

We made it to Campbell University’s Carolinas Conference! Alyssa presented our data testing how gesture boosts learning outcomes and our Bass Connections at Duke team Dena, Maria, and Janvi presented our work with Museum of Life and Science measuring how flexible science views shift science engagement!

And even more science from our amazing seniors! Congrats to Sejal on her Sanford School of Public Policy defense of her work from our lab looking at the need to disaggregate Asian stereotypes and how those vary based on views of immigrants broadly! Yay thesis season!! 🎉

Another senior thesis done! A big congrats to Rose for officially graduating with distinction from Duke Psychology & Neuroscience!! Her project tested how and when children generalize traits with generic vs statistical language!

Introducing Mercedes A. Muñoz who officially now has her masters degree from Duke University Duke Psychology & Neuroscience!! She is now on her way to earning that PhD after defending her thesis arguing for how we should consider the Latine demographic!! Her surprise celebration was the best!! 🎉🎉

Lab alumni news! Our amazing high school intern Rose will be staying nearby for college UNC-Chapel Hill in their honors program with a major in neuroscience and a minor in psychology! Even though they wear the other shade of blue 😉, we are so so proud of Rose! Hooray for college!
