Am sorry to say there is one X account that’s a bigger favorite of mine than any other account related to neonatology, medicine, wisdom, self-improvement or innovation. It has some precious musical treasures, such as this one:

Mindfulness meditation transformed my life about 11 years ago when I attended a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction workshop. Glad to see a meditation room at PAS!

Fascinating read about ECMO from my favorite magazine, including history of ECMO and eCPR. Mostly focused on adult ECMO. Luckily neonatal ECMO runs are shorter, more successful, less contentious.

The British Medical Journal has had a long history of involving patients in its publication efforts. In July they will publish a special issue of The BMJ, led by patients. More journals should emulate such efforts.

At every PAS meeting there are numerous interesting presentations. Best part of these is the Q and A where many good points are raised. Unfortunately some people hog the microphone and waste the Q &A with long rambling comments.

Be skeptical of the findings in single-centre RCTs of critically ill patients published in high-impact journals claiming a mortality benefit.

Only 1 out of 16 RCTs were replicated in a multi-centred RCT. ccforum.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

One of the most effective interventions in medicine is time. Yet we rarely discuss explicitly how to use time as Rx. We need to explicitly discuss when & how often to intervene, when to wait & watch. This is the science of 'time-sensitive therapeutics'.

If you are coming to PAS, please stop by at the Nemours Children's Health booth. We have a lot of interesting activities for attendees, lots of information about our health system, and lots of interesting people to meet and network with.
Look forward to seeing you there!
