"The last thing we want as the collateral damage of Covid-19 are outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases," Dr. Sean O'Leary tells The New York Times. Parents, call your pediatrician and ask about vaccines & safety precautions taken in the office. #COVID19 nytimes.com/2020/04/23/hea…

We all want schools to open but it has to be safe. In NY we will decide based on the data. Schools will reopen if a region is in Phase 4 & daily infection rate remains below 5% (14-day avg). Schools close if regional infection rate is greater than 9% (7-day avg) after August 1.

Thank you to Dr. Robert Lee for the opportunity to write about my experiences during the thick of COVID. Thank you to my friends across the county, state, and nation who lived it day and night (special shout-out Dr. Ashley Bonheur). #MaskUp Let’s not do that again...

Grateful to have the opportunity to learn about COVID-19 vaccine development from Paul Offit. Thank you Nassau Pediatric Society! Hygiene and PPE still remain our #1 protection. #WearAMask I hope next time will be in person so I can ask him to autograph my book🤓

Effective Wednesday, NYS will adopt the CDC's new mask & social distancing guidance for vaccinated people. Unvaccinated people should continue to wear a mask. Masks will still be required on public transit, in schools & some communal settings. Private venues may require masks.

When adult ICUs and hospitals were overwhelmed with COVID, we pulled out all the stops to help. Now when pediatric ICUs and hospitals are overwhelmed with RSV and other viruses, where is the response?
