And honestly there is some merit to “rich white ladies” (but emphasis on rich) getting better treatment in criminal cases. The remedy to that is to treat everyone the way we treat “rich white ladies” though, not to treat them worse. Wanna send someone to prison? PROVE YOUR CASE.

As DA I completely agree. We have real crimes to prosecute. Legalize and regulate if you really want to protect Texas kids. SB 3 isn’t going to protect kids - it’s going to bog down law enforcement and distract from where they are really needed.

These are such great projects. Clearing someone's criminal record can literally change their life. I was honored to help Dallas County DA roll out the first "Expunction Expo" in Texas back in 2016. They've caught on in many counties. Thousands of people have gotten a fresh start.
