I am devastated by the murder of six hostages, including American Hersh Goldberg-Polin. I grieve for his parents & loved ones who so passionately advocated for all the hostages. We must secure an immediate ceasefire to bring home all the hostages & end this cycle of violence.

Devastated by yet another act of gun violence in our nation’s schools. Praying for those we lost, their families & the students & teachers of Apalachee High School. We cannot be passive in the face of such senseless violence. We must legislate & find every avenue to save lives.

It was great to celebrate Sacramento Regional Transit's new low-floor light rail vehicles! 🚈 These cars will help Sacramentans commute while being emissions-free. I'm proud to have secured tens of millions in federal funds for this project that will make transportation better across our region.

It was wonderful to launch the Green Ambitions program with my friends from TheCenter, United Way CA Capital Region, and Green Tech! 🌱 I was proud to secure $500,000 of federal funding to empower our youth in South Sacramento to help lead the clean energy transition.

It was great to join many friends & colleagues at the groundbreaking of Mutual Housing CA’ San Juan Apartment Complex! 🏠 Investment from local, state, & federal govts into projects like San Juan are a celebration of the strength & peace of mind that comes from a healthy home.

In the Sacramento region, I hear about the need for broadband affordability whether I’m in downtown Sacramento or in farming communities in the Delta. 🛜 That’s why I’m glad NTIA is working to ensure that state BEAD plans have affordability measures tailored to local needs.

Today, we remember the thousands of lives taken on September 11, 2001. We honor the sacrifices of our brave first responders who faced unimaginable danger to save lives. In the face of terror, our nation came together united and resilient. We will #NeverForget.

I hosted a conversation with Secretary Gina Raimondo and NIST Director of U.S. Commerce Dept. and Members from The Black Caucus, CAPAC, Congressional Hispanic Caucus, on Energy & Commerce Democrats to discuss the advancement & development of artificial intelligence and its impact on low-income & minority communities.
